Cookie Notice

What IQnero stores in your browser, why, and how you stay in control — explained plainly.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This notice explains how the IQnero website uses cookies and similar browser storage. IQnero is a smart pool-leak-monitoring service currently in private beta in Texas. We keep this short because our approach is simple: we use only what's needed to make the site and app work, and we don't use cookies to advertise to you or track you across other websites.

This page is a working template provided for review. It should be checked by qualified legal counsel, and reconciled with our live technical setup, before IQnero launches publicly.

Cookies and similar storage, in plain terms

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. "Similar storage" includes technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage, which also save small amounts of data in your browser. We use the word "cookies" below as a shorthand for all of these.

What we currently use

Essential and functional storage

The IQnero website and app use a small amount of essential storage to work correctly — for example, keeping you signed in during a session, remembering that you've already joined the waitlist so we don't ask twice, and holding basic preferences. This storage is first-party (set by IQnero) and is not used for advertising. Without it, core features like signing in may not function.

Google Fonts

Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which are served from Google's servers. When your browser requests a font, that request reaches Google and may be logged by Google in line with its own policies (for example, your IP address and browser type). Google Fonts does not set advertising cookies for this purpose. You can learn more in Google's privacy policy.

Analytics (Plausible)

When analytics are enabled, we use Plausible — a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. Plausible does not set cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across websites or devices. It gives us aggregate counts like page views and referral sources so we can understand what's useful. Analytics are only loaded when configured for a given environment, so some IQnero pages may run with no analytics at all.

What we don't use

Separately, services we rely on to run IQnero — such as Stripe for payments, Checkr for technician background checks, and our device/metering partner for water-usage data — may set their own cookies when you actively use their flows (for example, during checkout). Those are governed by each provider's own cookie and privacy policies.

Cookie categories

Essential

Required for the site and app to function — sign-in sessions, security, and remembering basic choices. These are always on because the service can't work without them, and they're not used for advertising.

Analytics

Optional, aggregate usage measurement via cookieless Plausible, used only when enabled. Because Plausible sets no cookies and collects no personal data, there's nothing to opt out of at the cookie level — but you can still block the script using your browser or an extension if you prefer.

How to control cookies

You're always in control of what your browser stores. You can:

Browser-specific instructions are available from your browser maker — look for "Cookies and site data" or "Privacy and security" in your settings. Note that blocking essential storage may stop parts of the IQnero app, such as signing in, from working.

Changes to this notice

As IQnero grows beyond private beta, our use of cookies may change. When it does, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we'll ask for your consent first where required.
